Cord Blood Storage

Secure your child's future with cord blood stem cell biobanking. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at birth for lifelong biological insurance.

Cord Blood

What is Cord Blood Banking?

Cord blood is the blood that remains in the umbilical cord and placenta after a baby is born. This blood is a rich source of hematopoietic stem cells that can be used to treat over 80 diseases, including leukemia, lymphoma, and various genetic disorders.

The collection process is completely safe for both mother and child. Blood is collected after the umbilical cord is cut, while the placenta is still in the uterus or immediately after delivery. The procedure takes only a few minutes and does not affect the course of delivery.

After collection, the cord blood is processed and stored in GaiaCell's specialized laboratory under strict GMP conditions. Stem cells are frozen at -196 C in liquid nitrogen, where they remain viable for decades.

Process

How Does Storage Work?

A simple four-step process that begins before birth

1. Pre-birth Registration

Contact us at least 4 weeks before your expected due date. You will receive a cord blood collection kit and all instructions.

2. Collection at Birth

During delivery, the midwife or physician collects cord blood using a sterile kit. The procedure is painless and safe for mother and child.

3. Transport and Processing

The collected blood is delivered to the GaiaCell laboratory within 24 hours, where it is processed, tested, and prepared for long-term storage under GMP conditions.

4. Cryopreservation

Stem cells are frozen at -196 C in liquid nitrogen. Samples are regularly monitored and remain viable for use at any time in the future.

Important: timely registration

Cord blood storage must be arranged before birth. We recommend contacting us at least 4 weeks before your expected due date to ensure timely delivery of the collection kit and preparation of all necessary documents.
